Beyond Now suicide safety plan 2.3.3

If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, a safety plan can serve as a reminder of reasons to live and methods to stay safe.

The Beyond Now suicide safety planning app is designed to assist in creating a personalized suicide safety plan to safeguard individuals when experiencing suicidal ideations. Through the app, users can document strategies and contacts for maintaining safety, such as identifying warning signs, coping mechanisms, reasons for living, and steps to ensure a secure environment.

Convenient and confidential, Beyond Now allows you to carry your safety plan with you at all times, accessible for editing whenever necessary. Furthermore, you have the option to share a copy via email with trusted friends, family members, or healthcare professionals to enhance their ability to support you.

Beyond Now is crafted to complement your overall mental well-being and safety regimen and is not intended to serve as the sole form of support. Ideally, it is recommended to develop your plan in collaboration with a healthcare professional or support individual during moments of tranquility.

Beyond Now was co-developed in 2016 by Beyond Blue and Monash University in partnership with individuals who have lived through suicidal thoughts or crises.

In March 2024, Beyond Blue transferred ownership of Beyond Now to Lifeline Australia as part of a collaborative effort aimed at providing clearer guidance to individuals in crisis seeking support.
